Bilaal joined Best Hooper in 2023 and has progressed from an intern to a lawyer in the firm’s Property team when he was admitted to practice in 2026. Bilaal holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce (Management) from Monash University.

Bilaal has developed broad experience across land development, compulsory acquisition, real estate and complex title matters. He works on complex property matters, including adverse possession claims, boundary disputes, easements, restrictive covenants and other title-related issues.

Bilaal assists with property transactions and leasing matters, including acquisitions and disposals, leasing arrangements, contract preparation and due diligence.

Bilaal’s experience also extends to compulsory acquisition and compensation matters, assisting landowners through the acquisition process, including claim preparation, temporary occupation, compensation claims and matters involving public acquisition overlays and reserved land.

Bilaal’s principal areas of practice include:

  • Adverse possession, boundary disputes and possessory title claims;
  • Compulsory acquisition, temporary occupation, loss-on-sale and compensation claims for affected landowners;
  • Contracts of sale, vendor statements, leases and licences including preparation, review and negotiation;
  • Easements, roads and restrictive covenants including applications for the removal or variation of title restrictions; and
  • Property due diligence including title, planning, leasing, contamination, caveat and ownership issues.
